The expertise of the University of West Attica is going to be used by the Municipality of Agia Varvara to upgrade the educational services provided to the citizens. With the cooperation memorandum, the University undertakes:

• the scientific organization and operation of a Municipal Free Open University in the Municipality, giving citizens the opportunity to come into contact with knowledge, with educational validity and educational excellence, while the scientific responsibility for its organization and operation will be taken by Associate Professor Yiannis Koumpouros of the Department of Public and Community Health of the University of West Attica
• the scientific support of the municipality in matters of public and social hygiene, mild forms of energy and environmental protection, (visual and art conservation – social policies)
• the development of a program of health education and healthy nutrition and monitoring its application to the students of the schools of our municipality, and,
• the participation – access and monitoring for the members of the Municipality’s Health Department of the actions of the Confucius Institute as above.
