UNIWA launches the international Interdisciplinary Humanitarian Network of Experts
The values of humanitarianism, neutrality, impartiality and independence which are fundamental in every humanitarian action as well as social impact, i.e. the promotion of collective benefit in all areas of social action, are boldly promoted by the University of West Attica by establishing an international interdisciplinary humanitarian network of experts (https://humanitarian-noe.uniwa.gr/).
The pioneer of this effort is Associate Professor of the Department of Public and Community Health, Ioannis Koumbouros, who points out that the action of this network embodies the core values of UNIWA: commitment to excellence, social responsibility and the pursuit of knowledge for the greater good. The creation of this humanitarian network is aligned with the mission of the University of West Attica to empower its faculty and students to be catalysts for positive change. By harnessing the expertise and passion of its members, UNIWA aims to make a significant impact on society and inspire future generations to contribute to humanitarian causes.
As the international interdisciplinary humanitarian network of experts is created, the Rector of the University of West Attica, Professor Panagiotis E. Kaldis, invites academics, professionals and researchers to join this effort and emphasizes that “Together, we will collaborate, innovate and use the collective expertise to address the most pressing societal challenges, promoting an inclusive world.”
With a deep interest in social impact and a commitment to promoting positive change, Mr. Koumpouros brings together international scientists and experts from different fields and disciplines to address pressing humanitarian challenges. Drawing on his extensive experience and expertise in healthcare, technology and the social sciences, he envisions a network that leverages collective knowledge to create solutions that will have lasting social impact.
By creating this humanitarian network, UNIWA aims to bridge the gap between academia, research and real-world applications, addressing critical issues such as poverty, healthcare disparities and environmental sustainability. With a vision to drive innovation and create practical solutions that positively impact vulnerable communities, Mr. Koumpouros seeks to mobilize experts from various fields to collaborate.
This interdisciplinary humanitarian network will serve as a platform to exchange ideas, engage in collaborative research projects, and implement sustainable interventions. By enhancing the exchange of knowledge and through the interdisciplinary approach, the network will contribute to the promotion of humanitarian initiatives and the development of effective strategies to address pressing societal challenges.
In an ever-evolving world that requires multidimensional solutions, the creation of this international interdisciplinary humanitarian network of experts marks an important step forward, emphasizes Mr. Koumbouros. Through the dedication of its members, the network can be a force for social transformation, furthering UNIWA’s mission to create a better future for all.
